Upstream Dry Fly

Dry Fly Fishing

Lower Test Beats: Nursling Mill beat EXCLUSIVE TO UPSTREAMDRYFLY

Just downstream of the Broadlands Estate water. The Nursling Mill trout beats offers main river, double bank fishing from the Broadlands boundary downstream to the beautiful Nursling Mill, through the super Mill Pool and beyond. This beat often produces very large trout that run downstream toward the estuary as well as the occasional salmon and sea trout too. The mayfly hatches here are the most prolific we have seen anywhere on the river.

Howard

Just wanted to thank you for arranging our day at Nursling. I doubt that we could have scripted it better. Wonderful weather, a beautiful stretch of river and a receptive population of trout. Adrian and I had 9 trout in total, both brown and rainbow, with the heaviest weighing in at circa 5 lb. All the fish were in good condition although one looked like it had been got at by an otter (?)

The facilities on the beat were first class, and Nick was very helpful and friendly when we first arrived and kept us straight. I trust we left everything in good order.

Hard to see how we can top that but I suspect Adrian and I will soon be discussing our next trip.

Many thanks again

Best
